SWEET ALMONDS TART

It is a common believe that the fastest way to reach a loverís heart is through his/her stomach. Iím sure youíll find today's recipe to meet that expectation. As you might have guessed itís a Portuguese cake recipe. Enjoy it; it's heavenly delicious.

Tarte de amÍndoa

Ingredients
. 250 g ground almonds
. 250 g sugar
. 4 eggs (whites + yolks)
. 1 cup sugar
. 1 cup water
. 1 pinch of salt

 
   

Preparation
1 - Mix the ground almonds with the sugar and the salt.
2 - Whisk the four egg whites until stiff and add to the almond and sugar mixture.
3 - Grease a round tart pan and line it with baking (parchment) paper, pour in the preparation, and bake in a 375į F oven.
4 - When ready, spread the doce de ovos (egg cream topping) over the cake and decorate with almond chips.
