AT THE 2013 HOLLYWOOD BOOK FESTIVAL
The story is set in a farm, somewhere in the middle of nowhere but that could also be everywhere. It tells about a lonely House, forgotten by everybody,
that has one day the joy of seeing different guests come, one by one with the seasons, to build there a new life: Mrs. Spider, Mr. and Mrs. Mouse, Mrs. Duck and her ducklings,
the big gray and white Cat, the Ewe, even the Ants and the Bees… All of this little community shares the same place and lives peacefully together...
Until one day this agreeable quietude is disturbed by the arrival of Man and his faithful friend, the Dog! What lesson must Man learn in order to become less selfish and more respectful of nature? A bitter lesson!
So far, this cute story has had a fantastic feedback from readers and reviewers. One reviewer said: I think that children and adults alike will enjoy the overall messages:
There is a place/role in this world for everyone—despite how big or small it may be. Also, animals should be treated kindly because they, too, have an important role to play in keeping nature balanced.
the French writer, poet and philosopher Serge Lapisse wrote: a work that invites us to look at life in a different way, and to enter a world where beauty overcomes ugliness.
It takes inspiration both from the classic tale by its realistic features and from the contemporary tale by its fantasy. I couldn’t but congratulate her for leading us
through such paths of live that are alas very often overlooked as we grow adult.
ONCE UPON A TIME… A HOUSE is the English version of the children’s bestselling book Il Était une Fois une Maison,
which was awarded a literary prize in France back in 2004, and the respective e-book (kindle) has been since its publication, more than two years ago, in the TOP 100 of its category at

About the Hollywood Book Festival
The Hollywood Book Festival is based in the capital of show business
and aims to spotlight literature worthy of further consideration by the talent-hungry pipeline of the entertainment industry.
A panel of judges will determine the winners based on the following criteria: the story-telling ability of the author, and the potential of the work to be translated into other forms of media.
Less than five percent of entries are ever honoured with a placement in the competition. Even though an author is not atop the category, being an award-winning author is something to be proud of.
Winners of the 2013 Hollywood Book Festival will be honoured at a gala held on
July 20, 2013 at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood, CA, the location of the very first Academy Awards ceremony.
